Frequently Asked Questions

Your Didicar Questions Answered! If you'd like to ask a question that hasn't been answered below, please contact us.

1) What ages are Didicar’s suitable for?

We currently allow our Didicar’s to be used by people from the age of 2 ½ years through to 11 years of age. The maximum weight is 100kg (or 220lbs).

2) What surfaces does it work on?

Didicar’s work best when used on hard, smooth, flat surfaces. Currently we only offer our Didicar’s for indoor use. Village halls, school halls and community centers make ideal venues.

Please note: Didicar will work on many different internal surfaces however if the Didicar is used on certain wooden or laminate floorings small grooves may be made by the back wheels on the floor surface. If you have any doubt please try the Didicar first on an area out of sight to ensure no untoward effects from the wheels occur on your flooring.

3) The front two little wheels do not touch the ground is this correct?

When assembled correctly the two little front wheels should not touch the ground. These two little front wheels are designed as a safety device to stop the Didicar tipping forward when being ridden.

4) How does it work?

Didicar is a triumph of fun over physics. It is purely kid powered. Sitting on the Didicar all that is required to get moving is to move the steering wheel from left to right and it moves forward. Flip the wheel 180° and Didicar goes backwards.

The two driving wheels find pushing power against one another and as the wheel is turned they drive each other forward (or backward).

Didicar is simple to operate and requires no batteries, there are no pedals, motors or other fuels and no greasy chains or complicated gears. Just add children.

5) Do you have public liability insurance?
Yes. We hold public liability insurance which covers up to £5 million. This covers our negligence, for example when setting up the equipment and does not cover misuse of the equipment. We recommend that you take out your own public liability insurance to cover this.

6) Can the equipment be kept over night?
No. We currently do not allow overnight hire of any of our equipment.

7) What’s the latest I can keep the equipment?
The latest collection time we offer is 7pm.

8) Do I have to pay a deposit?

In most circumstances we do not require a deposit. For bookings over £150 we require a non refundable £100 deposit.

9) Can I cancel my booking?

Yes. You are free to cancel your booking anytime before 9am on the day of hire.

10) What if it rains, can I have a refund?

The Didicar’s can only be used at indoor venues so the weather is irrelevant.

11) What happens if the equipment gets damaged?

All equipment is checked on delivery and collection for any damage. You are responsible for the safe keeping of the equipment. If damage occurs you will be liable for any costs incurred in repairing the equipment.

12) Do you offer a discount if we don’t need the equipment for the full five hours?

Unfortunately we’re not able to offer discounts if you don’t require the equipment for the full five hours.

13) Are you members of any trade organisations?

There are no trade organisations that exist for Didicar hirer’s. Didicar Racing is part of the Capel Castles Group who are members of the BIHA (British Inflatable Hirer’s Alliance). The BIHA focusses on improving overall safety standard within the industry. You can find out more about the BIHA at www.biha.org.uk.

14) Do you charge for delivery of the equipment?

The prices quoted include delivery and collection to a venue within 20 miles of the “IP9 2” postcode as quoted by www.theaa.co.uk. If the venue is further than 20 miles, then a charge of £0.45p per mile for both the delivery and collection will be applied to the quotation.
